The short version
Notah does not collect your notes, your name, your email or anything about how you use the app. There is no account, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking, in the apps or on this site.
Your notes
Notes are saved as small files on your own device, in a folder you can see and move. They never leave your device unless you choose to share one, or you put the folder in a service you already use, such as iCloud Drive. Notah has no servers that receive notes.
Sharing a note live
When you share a note, your device talks directly to your friend's device over your local network. The connection is encrypted with a key that exists only in the invite link. The link's secret is kept after the # in the address, which browsers never send to notah.me. Nothing is stored anywhere except on the two devices.
Updates
The desktop apps check notah.me for new versions. That is an ordinary web request, so our hosting providers see an IP address and the app version, the same as any website visit. We do not use it to identify anyone, and we keep no records of it ourselves.
This website
notah.me sets no cookies and runs no analytics. We only remember your choice of light or dark theme, in your own browser. Downloads are served from Cloudflare, and the pages from Vercel; both process connection data to deliver files, as any host does.
Permissions on your phone
On iPhone, iPad and Android, Notah asks for local network access, only so that live sharing can find your friend's device. It does not ask for your contacts, location, camera, microphone or photos.
Children
Because Notah collects nothing, there is no personal information from children, or from anyone else, to protect or delete.
Changes and contact
If this ever changes, we will say so here and in the app before it does. Questions are welcome at hi@jehaad.com.
